Entry 6

Do you ever ask someone what their favorite games are, or see a list typed up on like, a streamer's about page, and you think like, WOW this person and I would just fundamentally not see eye to eye LOL. Like, it is not even always that I dislike the games on their list, but I can tell by the consistency of what type of games they herald as their favorites that not only is my taste in games foundationally so different from theirs, but also my core personality/mindset. I am like, a hater to my core, and I work constanly not to condescend to others about their game taste and opinions because I fully understand how petty and pedantic it would be to constantly get into disagreements with people about why mario galaxy is terrible and why they should like mario 64 like me. But yeah, I read a top ten games list like a tiktok user reads horoscopes. It genuinely tells me so much about the mind of the person that makes the list. I won't name any more games here that are red flags for me, as I would be doing exactly what I just said I try not to do, but my advice to you is that if you read all the games in your top 10 and more than 5 of them are in the same genre, please expand your horizons.

I am almost done with Psychonauts 2's main story, or at least I think I am. I suppose that could be false but I would be very surprised if there were more than maybe 5 or 6 hours left at most. That being said, I do have quite a lot of revisiting old levels to do, as I did not collect everything on basically any of my first run throughs. The game does not disappoint in basicallly any way. It should show from how insufferably frequently I praise it, but I do like the game quite a lot.

Gnats

Yesterday, a ton of gnats started appearing in my home. It is very awful for me, as someone with a colossal fear of bugs. Today, apple cider vinegar traps were set to hopeful solve the issue, and it has already caught some of them, but many more remain at large. I hate them so much and my skin is crawling constantly.

Exhaustion

Every feels like I am fighting just to hold my head up. I feel constant exhaustion and I can barely concentrate on the things I want to do. I have not done anything on this site other than these blob posts for over a week now I think. Hopefully I get new inspiration soon for a new major page. Maybe some sort of small interactible game, like the idle game page.

Buttons

I have been back and forth on the idea of making a buttons page to put the buttons of sites I follow and sites that follow me, but I have been hesitant to do so because I am not exactly certain about the etiquette around it. Do I ask a site before I put their button on mine, as there might be a chance they don't want their button here? My button is not especially excellent, as it is something I essentially made as a placeholder and never updated it. If you read these, let me know what you think. Would you like your button on my site? I also feel a touch strange about it as almost everything I put on this site was made by me, except for the obvious assets from nintendo games, so putting content made by others sort of breaks the rule I loosely follow. Either way, since they'd all be on one page, I think that is an acceptable exception.

Ok, gotta go, Joel is streaming the new Monkey Wrench episode. Check out Monkey Wrench on youtube if you haven't seen it. Independent animation is so amazing and deserves everyone's support.

Edit: It is now 1:04 AM as I am writing this. I have since finished Psychonauts 2. I did not want to make an entire new blog post about this, so I figured I would just tack it onto the last one. Hopefully, this will be the last time you have to hear me gush about this game, although I can't promise I won't make some fanart for the art page. I don't really have much to say about the game that I have not said already. The game is staggeringly creative, unbelievably well paced, and delightful in every capacity. It is not often I have the pleasure of playing a masterpiece, so I know one when I see it. The game sticks the landing in the final act, and is a beautiful sendoff to this entry in the series. Hopefully, we see another intry in this series sooner than last time, but I am also for sure understanding of how much time it takes to make something like this. One thing I don't think i have praised enough is just how incredible the voice work in this game is. Everyone in the cast is absolutely bringing an unforgettable performance, with a few names you may recognize lending their talents to the project. All in all, I love this game so much and am incredibly glad I waited to play it myself rather than getting spoiled by watching someone else play it. If you are on the fence, and all I have said so far has not convinced you, I really don't know what else I can say. Sorry for adding this late and tampering with the continuity. I will try to not do this often, but I did not have enough material to fill an entire new post and needed to gush about this game on here one last time. The next game I will be finishing is Cereza nad the Lost Demon, so expect high praise of that one too. After that though, I have nothing specific planned so let me know if there is a game I should play. I have a headache junior brewing so I am going to resy my eyes and mind now.

I think that's all I have for you for today.
