Entry 11

Melee

Just got finished playing melee with a friend and it is frustrating and kind of scary that I am experiencing hand pain after melee sessions now. I never used to, and I would play many times a week, for long hours at a time. This is the first time I have played in like, a month and after 3 hours I basically just can't continue, as it is taking a direct toll on my ability to play. While I obviously think playing Fox is something that is a major factor there, I also had a good few years where I played Fox for many hours at a time and never got hand pain. It is a good thing I do not have the drive or desire to compete because I truly wonder how much of an obstacle hand pain would be for me. I probably only have a certain number of waveshine upsmashes left in the tank like, permanently and that's a surreal thought.

Neocities

When I first made this website, I had no real concept of what I wanted to make or what my goals were here. Once I got a bunch of my art and music archived here, I slowed down a lot on working on the site itself, and have been able to spend more time browsing other sites on this platform. I am so glad I have been because it is really cool to see all the interesting people that use this site, all with different backgrounds, ages, identities, and reasons for making their sites. And the craziest part is how kind and supportive everyone is. I have never used social media and have basically always felt rather nervous about talking to people online, so this is a rather new experience for me, but everyone is making it as positve as possible, so thank you to everyone on this platform for just being cool. I really like seeing new people start their sites on here and watch them develop. I am a programmer, although have never worked in html before this, so it really blows me away when people with no coding experience make their own sites. I suppose that is thanks to the ample excellent resources available for every possible aspect of web development.

Games

I decided to cave and finally try Balatro, despite thinking it looked really boring and lame, and now that I have played it, i can for sure say I get it. It is significantly more fun to play than to watch or hear about, and I think I will play a decent bit more. I do not, however, think it will become something I put an immense amount of time into, as I do not really like card games that much, or really anything excessively random.

I also played through every track on F-Zero (SNES) again the other day. I got a new wii u gamepad charger for christmas so I played fzero via virtual console on my CRT again. The game is so solid, and has such an amazing soundtrack. Not sure what else to play on my wii u now though, as I have already played most of the library. If you have any suggestions, let me know.

I think that's all I have for you for today.

Oh also I had the idea that, now that I have added a buttons page for my mutals, I could link one here at the end of every blog post. So here is the first one.

Site of the day: Sakana
